Behind the Music .:. WHPMA |
![]() The WHPMA was formed during the 1984 - 85 school year by a small group of concerned and dedicated parents responding to a request for support from Mr. Duffy. This group implemented a set of by-laws, elected officers and began planning the activities which form the core of our Calendar of Events. The primary purpose of the WHPMA was to provide support to the music program through fundraisers and attendance at concerts and events. The WHPMA has grown stronger and more visible each year, and is now recognized by school and town administrators as a successful, vibrant organization By involving both students and parents working together, we promote not only musical programs but community pride as well. As a result of these efforts the WHPMA has to date provided over $17,000 in financial aid to students through music camp awards and scholarships, flowers and dinners for seniors at the annual music banquet, the Thanksgiving Day breakfast and September picnic, and most especially, academic scholarships. The main lobby trophy case is also the result of our fund raising efforts, and is not only a reflection of our pride in our student's accomplishments, but our ongoing committment to the promotion of musical achievement at Wolcott High School.
